Most privacy policies are written so that nothing in them can ever be wrong. This one is written so you can check it. Everything below describes what this website actually does — and for the most part, what it does is very little.

The short version. This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and does not track you. Nothing you type into the free tools is sent to us. The only personal information we get is what you deliberately type into one of the two contact forms and submit.
If you never fill in a form, we never learn who you are.

This page covers this website. It does not cover the services we run for clients under a signed agreement — those are governed by that agreement, which says more than a web page can.
There are two forms on this site: the assessment form on the home page and the form on the contact page. They ask for some or all of the following, and we receive exactly what you type:
Two things are attached automatically. The first is which form you used, so we know whether you came from the home page or the contact page. The second is the country your connection appears to be in, which is supplied by our security provider and is used to spot automated abuse.
We do not ask for, and have no use for, financial details, government identifiers, or anything about your health. Please do not put any of that in the message box.
This is the part most sites skip, so it is worth being specific. This website:
The four tools on this site are worth describing separately, because a tool that asks for a password deserves a straight answer about where that password goes.
The password tester never sends anything anywhere. It runs entirely inside your browser. What you type is never transmitted, never logged and never reaches us, even if you submit nothing. You can confirm this by disconnecting from the internet — it still works.
The downtime calculator and the readiness scorecard are the same: everything happens in your browser.
The email security checker is the one exception. To look up a domain's SPF, DMARC and MX records it has to ask a public DNS service, so the domain name you type is sent to Cloudflare's public DNS resolver. That is a domain name, not personal information, and we do not receive a copy. If a check finds a problem, the tool may offer to email you the result — that is an ordinary form submission and only happens if you fill it in.
Loading any web page means your browser connects to whoever hosts its parts, and those companies can see your IP address. On this site that is a short list, and we have kept it deliberately short:
Links to our client portal and to our social media accounts are ordinary links. Nothing is shared until you click one, and then you are on that company's site under their terms.
We use it to reply to you. If you ask for a quote or an assessment, we use your details to prepare it and to contact you about it.
A submitted form is checked for automated abuse and then delivered to us, either into our internal system or by email. We do not add you to a marketing list because you used a contact form, and we do not sell, rent or trade enquiry details.
Handling an enquiry means it passes through our email and business systems, which run on Microsoft 365, and through the delivery service that carries the message from the website to us. Those companies process it on our behalf in order to deliver it, not for their own purposes.
Enquiries that do not turn into a working relationship are kept while they are still commercially useful to follow up, and no longer than two years. If you become a client, your records are kept for as long as we work together and for the period our agreement and our tax and insurance obligations require afterwards.
If you would rather we did not keep your enquiry at all, say so and we will delete it. You do not need to give a reason.

We will not ask you to justify the request, and we will not make you go through a form to make it. Depending on where you live you may have these rights in law; we would rather simply honour them than argue about which ones apply to you.
The site is served over HTTPS and carries a content security policy that restricts what is allowed to run on it. Form submissions are verified on our server, not just in your browser, and the contents are validated before they go anywhere. There is more detail on the security page.
No one can promise perfect security, and we are not going to be the first. What we can say is that we hold very little, which is the most reliable protection there is.
This is a website about business IT services. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
If we change what the site does, we will change this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant and we already hold your details, we will tell you directly rather than quietly editing the page.
